The new 10,966 sq. ft. Clubhouse will be built on 2.3 acres of land at 1641 North Adams Street, just north of downtown Fredericksburg. The property was generously donated by a local resident and long-time supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Texas Hill Country.

The campaign goal is $8.1 million. This comprehensive budget includes new clubhouse construction ($5.2M), land and civil engineering ($497K), pavilion and playground ($349K), site preparation ($245K), furniture, fixtures, and equipment ($204K), soft costs including architectural, moving, and fundraising ($1M), and a maintenance reserve of 10% ($581K).

The new facility will serve an increased number of club members in a safe, modern learning environment. It will provide improved educational achievement, fitness programs, and behavioral support for members. The larger, multi-functional space will accommodate programs across the entire age spectrum (6-18 years) and can host community events. Enhanced security and safety features, along with more attractive program spaces, will increase attendance and help us better serve those who need us most.

Studies show that the middle school years are a critical, at-risk time for all youth. Research conducted by Boys & Girls Clubs of America demonstrates that youth drug and alcohol abuse, as well as premature sexual activity, are actually more common in rural areas than in urban settings. The club has taken purposeful steps to focus on expanding and improving offerings for middle schoolers to attract and retain membership through these key developmental years.
